The Primary Turbine Protection Board, specially designed by General Electric (GE) for the MarkVISpeedtronic series turbine control system, is the core safety module of the system.

 

1. Main Functions

• Monitors excitation shaft current/voltage and triggers an alarm when the set threshold is exceeded.
• Measures turbine speed to provide primary overspeed protection; can drive the three main overspeed relays on the TRPx terminal board.
• Protection scope includes overspeed, undervoltage, over‑current, loss of lubrication oil pressure, high vibration, thermal overload, and other critical faults (e.g., flame detector anomalies).
• Real‑time alarms: Provides immediate alerts for overspeed, over‑temperature, over‑pressure, etc., and can initiate shutdown, valve closure, and other protective actions.
