This is a 4-inch (approximately 101 mm) transmission sphere used to convert the collimated output beam of a laser interferometer into a spherical wavefront. It acts as a beam splitter on the interferometer’s main frame or remote connector, separating the laser beam into a reference wavefront and a measurement wavefront. The accessory has optical parameters of f/0.65 and a wavefront error of 1/10 wave (approximately λ/10), classifying it as a PV (precision wavefront) and compatible with the 4-inch optical path configuration of ZYGO series laser interferometers.
