This highly reliable, flexibly configurable 16-channel digital hybrid module is a key component of the underlying I/O network of ABB’s large-scale DCS control systems. It collects switching signals from field devices into the control system and executes switching control commands issued by the controller.

1. Module Type: Digital Input/Output Module

   • Digital Input (DI): Receives switch status signals from field devices (e.g., push buttons, limit switches, relay contacts, proximity sensors). The signal state is “0” or “1” (i.e., “ON” or “OFF”).

   • Digital Output (DO): Sends switch control signals to field devices to operate equipment (e.g., relays, indicator lamps, solenoid valves, small contactors).

5. Status Indication: The module front has LED indicators to display the status of each channel (e.g., “Power,” “Signal OK,” “Fault”), facilitating quick diagnosis for commissioning and maintenance personnel.
