It is a dual-port RS232/RS422 communication module designed for process control systems.

Product Overview
The Trusted® TMR Expander Processor Module resides in the processor socket of the Trusted expander chassis and provides a “slave” interface between the expander bus and the chassis backplane. The expander bus allows the use of unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cabling while maintaining fault-tolerant, high-bandwidth intermodule bus (IMB) functionality.
The module provides fault control for the expander bus, the module itself, and the expander chassis, ensuring that the impact of these potential failures is localized and system availability is maximized. The module incorporates the fault tolerance capabilities of the HIFT TMR architecture. Comprehensive diagnostics, monitoring, and testing provide rapid fault identification. Hot standby and module spare configurations are supported, allowing for both automatic and manual repair strategies.

 

 

Features:

To install a module:

1. Ensure the cable assembly is correctly positioned.

2. Use the release key to release the ejector tabs on the module. Ensure the ejector tabs are fully open.

3. Holding the ejectors, carefully insert the module into the intended slot.

4. Press the top and bottom of the module cover to push the module fully into place.

5. Close the module ejectors, ensuring they click into place.
2.2. Module Replacement

The replacement module must be inserted into the vacant processor socket, ensuring the module is correctly positioned and the ejector tabs are closed (see Module Insertion and Removal). The newly installed module will proceed through its power-up sequence.
