Rockwell ICS Triplex T3310

It is a triple redundant controller designed specifically for industrial process safety. With its excellent reliability, fault tolerance and high safety integrity level, it has become a key device for protecting personnel, equipment and the environment from major accidents.

 

Core features and functions

High reliability and redundancy design:

The T3310 is a Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) controller, meaning that there are three identical processing channels running simultaneously within the system.

The system uses a “two out of three” (2oo3) voting logic to make output decisions. This means the results of the three channels are compared, and if two or more of them agree, that result is adopted. If a channel fails, the system automatically isolates it and issues an alarm without affecting the normal operation of the entire system, thus achieving extremely high reliability and fault tolerance.

Safety Integrity Level (SIL):

The module is designed in accordance with the IEC 61508 standard and can generally meet the safety requirements of the SIL 3 level. It is suitable for industrial fields with extremely high safety requirements, such as petrochemical, natural gas, electricity, pharmaceuticals, etc.

Application areas:

It is mainly used in critical safety applications such as emergency shutdown systems (ESD), fire and gas detection systems (F&G), burner management systems (BMS) and process safety interlocks.

System Integration:

The T3310 is one of the core controllers in the ICS Triplex Triconex® safety system. The Triconex system is renowned for its superior diagnostic capabilities, online maintenance (faulty modules can be replaced while the system is running), and powerful self-test functions.

Hardware and performance:

As a mature industrial control module, T3310 has a robust hardware design and can adapt to harsh industrial environments (such as high temperature, high humidity, electromagnetic interference, etc.).

It supports a wide range of I/O modules, enabling the connection and monitoring of a large number of field sensors and actuators.
